How it Works Baby Brain will cite this as a New Computer Model
"Children are the greatest learning machine in the universe. Imagine if a computer could learn as much and as fast as the kids can do," says Alison Gopnik, a developmental psychologist at the University of California at Berkeley.
Scientists know that the brain of a healthy newborn infants contains about 100 billion neurons. Brain cells in the baby grows very wide of the synapses, or connections at the age of 2 or 3 years, which makes it possible to learn the language and social skills, also to thrive in its environment.
While the adult brain tends to be more focused on the goal rather than allowing for the imagination. The researchers speculate that a combination of how the adult brain and the brain of children may be ideal for computer new tricks.
In an increasingly rapid technological developments, many scientists also conduct research and develop the existing technology. Even the scientists want to make the workings of the brain or infant reasoning as a new computer model.
"Cognitive measures of children used to solve the problem in the lab, and then transform into a computational model of the blueprint," says Gopnik and her colleagues.
Various studies have been used to test the hypothesis, estimating statistical odds, and to conclude on the evidence of old and new. Exploration and probability reasoning a child can make the computer not only smart, but is more adaptable and more humane.
"Young people are able to solve the problem that remains a challenge for the computer, such as learning the language and figure out a causal relationship. We hope to make the model more computer savvy to make the reasoning more like children," said Tom Griffiths, director of the UC Berkeley'sComputational Cognitive Science Lab as reported from MSNHealth, Wednesday (03/14/2012).
The researchers estimated the computer like a child who can interact more intelligent and responsive to humans. So that could be obtained a better computer program among other technologies, including artificial intelligence
